I would've liked some more quality of life mechanics though, some of which might've gone against the design of the game. Great, I made it! I duck my head back underwater to look for the entrance to the ship. The Aurora is the entirety of the horizon. Just need to make it to the Aurora and I'll be fine. Oh, I can finally see the bottom again, should I investigate. Where on Earth did the ground go? Only a few hundred meters to the Aurora. My flashlight casts a dim beam into the abyss that only intensifies my fear. And then the sun sets, and now I can't see anything.
I'm making my way across one of the kelp forests, and it's eery, and dark, and there are unidentified noises coming from somewhere that are making me stick to the surface in the hopes that nothing comes looking for me. A bit of additional background I typically play on the TV in the living room, but my wife was watching a show, so I'm at my computer monitor with headphones on. I don't have much of anything yet no Seamoth, not even a Seaglide. So after I get the blueprint for the radiation suit, I figure I'm supposed to make my way to the Aurora.
